This weekend way pretty amazing if I do say so myself.
Busy, a little hectic, but amazing.
Friday was my MIL's birthday. Which meant I was providing dinner and birthday cake. I woke up later than expected and ended up running around like a chicken with it's head cut off to get an errand done, pick my nephew up, figure out who all was coming and then get myself up to her house. Once there I had to check her cabinets and my grocery list to see what all I needed to pick up. Once back from Wal Mart, I started cooking right away. I got started about an hour later than I would have liked, so we didn't get to eat til around 8. But, 8 rolled around and we had Chicken Enchiladas, rice (a new recipe I found on Pinterest..I may post later.), and taco meat (for the ones not interested in the enchiladas), and salad. For dessert-when I asked her days before what kind of cake she wanted, she sent me a small list of things that sounded good to her, banana pudding was on it so I decided I would make my first banana pudding. Everyone complimented it, so I have to just trust that it was good. (I don't eat it). To end the night she opened her new pony from us and that was pretty much it. Everyone went home or to bed except Doug & I. We went to walmart, back to our house and back to hers. lol
New Painted Pony for her collection.
Saturday I woke up earlier than expected and spent a couple of hours doing the dishes. I told my MIL not to worry about any of the mess, I made it so I would clean it, & she listened. Doug had gone hunting & my MI & BIL were gone to one of his soccer games, so it was just me, a sinkful & stove top full of dirty dishes, and music. Then we watched College Game Day (since they were finally in Athens), and headed home. I got ready for the show and waited around for my friend that was going with me to get there. I'm glad I was able to watch a bit of the GA game and that I didn't have to miss ALL of it. And on the way to the concert, she and I listened to it on the radio. The concert. Twenty One Pilots, Panic! At The Disco & Fall Out Boy. Ohh, it was so amazing. I actually think that is a huge understatement. I definitely did NOT want it to end. I might do a separate post on it, I'll only took a couple of pics, so those will be in that post. I got 2 texts during the show telling me that the Bulldogs WON! Once the show was over we stopped and got our typical pre or post concert food, Taco Bell, and head towards home. I took her home & got myself home finally at around 1:45 am. Home to an empty house, everyone had left and went to the hunting club. It took a couple of hours for me to come down from my high (aka, adrenaline rush), but once I did, I CRASHED at around 4 something and slept SO good.
Sunday I woke up around 1pm and was still home alone, which was good. No one got home til around 4 I guess. I spent all day on the couch, in front of the TV, on Pinterest. Watched football and then it was time for new shows. Broncos & Lions won! Falcons and Bengals lost. :( 3 out of 5 this weekend. I hope my Falcons can get with it soon.
I'm still not fully recovered. I was a bit grumpy yesterday, I think it was from not fully waking up all day. Today, I've already slept way too late & procrastinated. I really need to make a dreaded dentist appt & go to Food Lion to get more pizzas because myself, my brother and husband love them enough that now that I found them, I get the pleasure of driving to the next county to stock up.
Crazy to think that October is TOMORROW! Wowzers.
So, let's see if I can be productive today!
Happy Monday.

Brandy
Oh Saturday, Friday was hectic, I didn't even get to read any blogs today, but it was great. Let's see how today goes...
Also, Happy Birthday to my PawPaw Larry in Heaven. You've been gone for about 15 years now and I still think of you on your birthday!♥
Today I am linking up with one of my favorites evaaa, Stephanie!
A little background, if you have any kind of list(s) (buckets lists, 30 before 30, 20 in your 20's, 101 in 1001 etc.) you can link up with Stephanie and Betsy and share and talk about any progress being made or, if you're like me, not being made. It's a once a month link up and happens on the last weekend of every month.
Bold=Completed, italics= In progress
Sayonara Summer...my list?
Night Fishing- Never got around too. (even though it's not too late, it just won't be considered a Summer check off)
Cook Out...
Concert- 1D & JB.
Clean & Work on basement...lots to do.
4th of July= fun, family time.
Family Time. Success, even though that's one of those that's always kind of in progress. Never enough! :)
Falcons Practice- Never went
Go Outside
Drink & Relax...I've drank more this summer, since I was forced to have my license renewed, than I have in the past year or two...oy!
Movies= Still only went to 1, if I'm remembering correctly.
Scrapbooking/DIY... My craft space isn't ready...still
Lose weight...1 or 2 lbs count right? lol I yo-yo'd a little all during the summer and then hit a 3 week plateau. Boo.
ATL...this is included with Zoo, since that's what Zoo we went to, even though there is far more I wanted to do. (Still want to do.)
Weekender...didn't get to take the one that I had planned/hoped to.
Doug Birthday= success
My Birthday= success
Celebrate= Success, but always in progress. ;)
I think I'm gonna make a Fall Bucket List, look for that in a few days.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My 30 before 30...
I'll just go ahead and say that there isn't really any progress on this. Thank God I have 5 years to do it.
Grow as a photographer.. I had a blast figuring thing out at the zoo as far as setting and how to adjust to get a good shot. When I feel comfortable in saying that I can produce a great shot fairly easily, I might "check" this off, however I feel like this is something that will always be continuous. Ya know?
Work on ancestry (on of my "extras" on the list)... this sucks me in! I can stay on ancestry for hours trying to get further and further back. If all connections I've figured out so far are right, I've been able to trace a couple of people back to London & one back to France. So that's cool.
I thought about making a 101 in 1001 list too, since it's a more things to do in a shorter time span and I feel like I could include more short-term type goals on it. But I'm not sure.
Thoughts??
Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday & weekend.
I'll be having a musical moment at the Fall Out Boy/Panic! At The Disco concert tonight!
-First and foremost, I know some of you -if not all of you- have read about Lora having to give birth to precious Harper way early. If you haven't read; in short Lora unexpectedly gave birth to her precious baby boy, Harper on Sunday. She was only 25 weeks along & Harper was born weighing in at 1lb and 9oz. Thankfully he has made it pass the first 72 hours, which her doctor said is the most critical. He still had quite a long road ahead & he will have to be in the hospital until at least December. A few amazing bloggers have started a fundraiser to help them with bills and other expenses. If you'd like to donate, you can do so here.
And of course if anyone who is a prayer warrior could keep them in mind, that'd be appreciated too. I remember when I first "met" Lora and we were both talking about wanting to get pregnant and some of the issues we were having & I was so excited when she announced her pregnancy. I'm pulling for Baby Harper to keep growing and get to go home to his mom, dad & big sisters as soon as he's able to!
-I am so ready for this weekend! SO. READY. Today is my MIL's birthday & we are going up to spend the night with her & my bro in law. I've made her banana pudding for her birthday "cake" & I'll be making chicken enchiladas and tacos for supper! Tomorrow? Well, I'll be at the Fall Out Boy & Panic! At The Disco concert that has been a long time coming. As in I've been waiting for about, ohh...8ish years -for BOTH bands-!
The downside to that is I am going to miss my Dawgs play! And they are playing LSU. I'll be a nervous wreck, but Doug has already been told that he'll just have to text me the score every so often. And I'll remind him of that several times.
And while we are on the subject of football (and the weekend), all four of my teams are playing on Sunday this week. ALL FOUR! Geeze. The only two I'll get to actually watch are my Broncos & my Falcons & they are spaced far enough apart time-wise that I should get to watch both in their entirety. I'll just have to DVR the laundry list of Sunday night show that I watch.
-And I'm bout to close this shiz out with some music. Duh. I find it so hard to pick one song...seriously. So, you get 6 today...yes, 6.
First one is this one...I heard it actually just this week I believe and I actually really like the sound of it.
Since I'm seeing FOB & P!ATD, I'm gonna do 2 songs from each....
FOB:
Fall Out Boy- Sugar We're Goin' Down Swingin'
Circa 2005
Fall Out Boy- My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)
Circa 2013
P!ATD:
Panic! At The Disco- I Write Sins Not Tragedies
Circa 2005
Panic! At The Disco- This Is Gospel
Circa 2013
And last but definitely not least...
a completely different genre of music.
This song is stuck in my head. To the point where I literally had YouTube open in a tab the other night & was playing this video on repeat. Over & over & over again.
If you've paid attention to my blog, you've might have noticed that I love me some TV.
A new season usually means a new seasons of shows & a new TV show schedule.
And mine is chocked mothafuckin full of evening shows, as always.
Damn.
Here is some of what's on my radar to watch:
Monday:
Teen Mom 3 -MTV
Let's face it. I love Teen Mom. Of course I miss Maci..and Chelsea. I feel like I'm still trying to figure these girls out. So far Alex seems to be the crazy one on this season. I actually feel bad saying that, because I know I'm not in their shoes, but you know...we see what MTV wants us too & she's a bit of a loose cannon. Briana seems like she has PPD and that makes me sad. I wish she would go out to dinner with some friends or something. I know this was all filmed MONTHS ago, but still.
T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle -VH1
It's no secret I love music. It's also no secret that I love me some T.I.! Not only as a musician, but as a person. I love watching his family every week!
Sleepy Hollow -ABC
Does anyone watch this? I watched the first episode, but missed the second one. I'm still trying to decide if I want to watch it. I feel like I do.
Tuesday:
Catfish - MTV
Main reason I love this is because I was the girl in online relationships as a teenager. lol There's always the question of "is this person really who he says he is." And never share too much personal info. No-no! I do find myself hoping for success stories all the time though. I was so happy when Lauren and Derek were a success!
Snookie & Jwowww New season starts October 22 on MTV I don't even know what to say about this one...but yes, yea I watched the first season & yes, I'll watch this one.
Face Off - SyFy
Competition show about make-up and fx artists. It's such a cool thing. Something I'd never be able to do, but I love watching them at their craft. Creativity is an amazing.
Ink Masters - Spike
Tattoo competition. The only thing that bugs me about this show is that I want a new one so bad, watching this make the itch worse.
Wednesday:
Tough Love Co-Ed - VH1
I can't pinpoint what it is that pulled me into this show. But I digs it. I've watched all seasons. This time around Steve's helping men & women with their dating/relationship issues! I'm not single, but hey, you can still learn a few things. Or just be happy that you aren't as bad as some of those people.
Ghost Hunters - New season starts October 9th on SyFy
I wanna go ghost hunting with Jay, Steve, Amy, Tango, Brit and the rest of the crew!
South Park - New season started last night, Sept. 25 on Comedy Central
Shut Up! I've been watching South Park since I was 10 years old. Since the beginning. I absolutely love it!
Thursday:
Once Upon a Time In Wonderland - Series premieres October 10 on ABC
Anyone watch "Once Upon A Time"? My parents do and seem to love it. I know I would too, if I would have caught it from the very beginning. I wouldn't even be able to begin to understand it right now. But, I do love me some Disney! So when I saw announcement of an Alice In Wonderland themed series, I was instantly interested. I have kind of an Alice in Wonderland obsession. I love everything about it. So I'm pretty excited for this to come on!
Football if one of my teams are playing.
Friday:
Kendra On Top -WEtv
I've loved Kendra since she was on The Girls Next Door & one of Hef's girlfriends. I was so sad to see her leave the Mansion but so happy when she got her own show! Love her!! & Lil Hank is too damn cute!
Saturday:
College Football- Georgia Bulldogs & any other SEC games we want to watch.
Sunday:
Football if any of my teams are playing.
Keeping Up With The Kardasian- New episodes return Sept.29 on E!
Don't judge me! I'm not even sorry that I love this show. Khloe is my girl, love her!
Eric & Jessie: Game On -Series premieres this Sunday Sept.29 on E!
Eric Decker & Jessie James have a reality show now, apparently. I'll bite. Eric is a fantastic Bronco & Jessie James is a singer, and a good one at that.
Real Housewives of Atlanta -New Season Premieres Nov. 3 on Bravo!
Hey hey! Out of the Real Housewives franchise my favorites are without a doubt OC & ATL. I mean, I am a Georgia girl. They are some rowdy ass bitches & I love it!
Masters of Sex- Series premieres Sept. 29 on Showtime This one isn't a for sure on either. A show about a man (doctor) who want to study the affect sex has on the brain. I think I might check it out. You can see the preview here. (Why? Whyyy are so many shows Sunday night shows!) ................
Thank God for DVR, am I right?! But really y'all...this is just scratching the surface. I may actually have to do a part 2 of this at some
point, because I know there are lots more but my mind has gone blank at
the moment. This list isn't even mentioning any of the crime shows. If I could get paid to watch TV, I'd probably do it, or at least try. lol I completely over-do it when it comes to TV shows.
What's on your Fall T.V. schedule? Anyone else watch any of these? Get some popcorn & drinks! ♥♥♥ Brandy
Even if only by a pound and a half.
I don't know what did it, but a pound less than being at the exact same weight for the last THREE WEEKS STRAIGHT is enough to make me say halle-freakin-lujar!
I can't really take credit for it because I'll be honest with you, pretty much the only thing I have done since last Wednesday is take one walk with my parents.
I'll tell you what takes the credit. Being sick as a dog Thursday and my body basically cleaning itself out.
Whatever, it's a pound, I'm gonna take it.
It rainy and dreary here today, hello Fall -lol-, and I have lots of cleaning to do..so assuming I actually DO it, that'll have to count as exercise!
Last week: 162.9
Today: 161.4
Down 1.5
I am sooo ready to be back out of the 160's!
Ahh, Christmas. It's getting closer. 92 days.
Christmas never leaves my mind, but around July it really kicks in. I'm surprised I haven't really posted about it yet, even though I warned you that I might.
But I am today.
I was looking at my wishlist and realized it needed to be updated a little bit so I've been doing that...(which led to a little twitter rant about Super Nintendo and cause me to become completely unfocused this post... IOW, this was supposed to post yesterday. OY!)
I still keep a handwritten wishlist, not just for Christmas or my Birthday but, for any gift giving event. Trust me it's useful, not just for someone else to see what I want, but for me to remember something I might want but can't get right away. I update it every so often or when I buy or receive something that's on it.
So here are a few random things on my Wish List!
1. Perfume. I've been using body spray for over a year now & don't get me wrong, it serves its purpose. But I'd like some perfume now. lol I've been trying to smell around [that just sounds weird to say-er type-] and find another perfume I like. I like Adidas Moves for Her. It's my go-to, something I know for sure I'll like. I've used it since I was a teen. A couple of new ones that I remember testing and liking [so far] are Our Moment by One Direction and DKNY: I Heart London (& I like one of the others too, I don't remember which city it was though. boo).
2. Camis! I wear camis under everything, and half of mine are falling about. Can never have enough camis! Has to be the Aeropostale ones though. Black, white, grey, red, navy, green, blue, and whatever other color. Large.
3. Tennis Shoes & Combat boots. Adidas Climacool Modualtion 2- blue. I'm just now wanting combat boots so I haven't really looked at them...yet.
4. Xyron Sticker Maker. Seriously it'd make scrap booking, or any paper crafting easier.
5. Painted Pony. Emergence.
6. Camera cleaning kit.
7. New camera bag & maybe a strap. Still need to look around for those also. I want a bag that looks like a purse. Something not 100% as bulky as the typical camera bags but that will still protect my Rebel.
8. Wild Encounter at the zoo with an Elephant.
9. Super Nintendo & games. (Or NES) Yep, totally serious.
10. My car fixed/painted. That's my baby. I was the victim of a hit a run about 4 years ago & my car has had the dent sinse. Plus some hail damage from a couple of years ago. And the dash is cracking and breaking from the sun. And the clear coat is peeling. And the tint is bubbling. She's a beaut to me, she just needs to extra special TLC. Painting actually needs to be done. In all fairness she is 11 years old. My Baby Blue.
What are some things on your wishlists (or Christmas list, birthday list, whatever list)?!
This weekend:
Friday was spent mostly in bed. I was sick as hell Thursday, I'm talking woke up that morning sweating & puked up my dinner from the night before & then slept all. damn. day sick. So, Friday was my recover and try to eat something day. We had plans Saturday...but didn't do them. Partially because of rain, partially because I wasn't sure if I'd be better from Thursday. I ended up being fine, which is good cause cancelled plans meant getting to watch the GA game (Dawgs won!) & see my beautiful niece and her mom for the day. Sunday= lazy, but beautiful first day of Fall. Not to mention Football. My Falcons lost right at the last damn minute! That was the only game out of my teams that I actually got to watch. But the Lions won & the Bengals won! WHO DEY! I missed the game, but was so happy they won! NO PACK, NO!
I thought about making a Fall Bucket List. Then I thought about my Summer Bucket List and how feel I didn't do quite as much as I'd like to on it. So, I'm not sure if I wanna...yet.
For now I'll just say I hope there will be at least one corn maze happening, a few more cookouts, at least 2 more concerts (actually those are for sure), pumpkin carving, halloween celebrating, family time, turkey eatin' & birthday celebrating going on. And maybe some hunting (shh, don't let anyone in my family know that.)
From now 'til Winter (dec.21) there are, I believe, 10 or 11 birthdays of loved ones. There will be celebrations of sorts for at least 6 or 7 of those, whether it be dinner or a party or sorts.
The 2 major ones are my mom & brother in law. Mom's turning 50 & I have no effin clue what to do for her. She's a homebody that doesn't really talk to or hang out with anyone outside of family. So, I gotta figure something out. My bro in law will be a facking TEENAGER this year. WHAT?!
But for right now I'm planning my nieces' princess party. This makes me happy and so sad at the same time.
Normally you can know pretty much what a kid will like...we don't have that luxury because she and her mom live a couple of counties away and come up once a month if we're lucky. Twice if we're really lucky. I wish I could spend the time with her that I do, or did, with my nephew. :( Anyway, she wants a princess party, so a small princess party she'll get. I think mom & I are gonna go looking around for stuff today.
I've also got to figure out something to do for my Granny & my Grandma (yes, two different ones) in the next week or so. But I have some ideas.
I hope I have a good week. We have a lot that needs to be done. The house needs to be deep cleaned. I'm motivated at this very second, but that could very well change in about 10 minutes. Ugh.
Anywho, off to maybe do stuff!
Have a great Monday!
♥♥♥
Just a few pieces of advice I'd like to put out there for you to maybe keep in mind the next time you go to have your car worked on for whatever reason...
1. Have realistic time expectations. Just because you are
taking it in for an oil change doesn't always mean that you will be in
and out. It's likely that they are already busy, or have another waiting
before you. You may take it in for something relatively minor and end up having to leave it for multiple days. They might have to wait for parts to get there. They might have to order a special tool. There are several things that can slow them down. And the bigger the problem, the longer the wait. I would say maybe have someone you can call to pick you up should the issue be more than you expected it to be. Just know that you may have to wait longer than you expect,
or want, to.
2. You get what you pay for.
Unless you know someone who can give you a good deal, it's probably not going to
be cheap. And as with anything else, if you go to the cheapest, fastest
place- just know that you might not have the best quality work done.
You'd hate to have to turn around and spend even more money to get some
re-fixed just because you want speedy work instead of accurate work.
3. M is for mechanic, not magician. It
takes time to check out a car and diagnose a problem. And not everything is
able to be fixed quickly. Cars can be way more complicated than you'd think. Also realize that they run into issues too. One small problem may lead to a bigger problem. They can't snap their fingers and fix it. And just because they are mechanics does not mean that every single problem is easy to figure out. I can tell you that's not the case at all.
4. Don't take your car in on E. If your taking your car in for some kind of issue other than oil change or something minor, chances are they will have to drive it down the road to hear/feel what you hear/feel so they can better diagnose the problem. And them they will likely drive it again once it's been fixed to make sure that what they did actually seemed to fix it. Don't take your car in on empty. Just don't do it.
5. Be appreciative. That's pretty self explanatory. As long as there is an honest mechanic doing work for you, you'll be taken care of. Don't be a jerk.
Today is National Tradesmen Day so I wanted to make a post having to do with my husbands profession. Many of my family have been, or can be classified as tradesmen; carpenters, electricians, wood workers, and mechanic. I actually didn't know about National Tradesmen Day until about a month ago. I think it's cool. So, today (or any day), thank a Tradesman!
Well, Dads surgery went well. It was in abdomen area so he's not allowed to do too much. He's being restless and stubborn right now. He's a workaholic and my mom is getting onto him for even trying to do emails. And she should. He needs to do nothing. But she better get ready cause he is off of work until his follow up appt...which is next Friday. So we'll see how this next week goes.
There will be a lot of cleaning coming up, that's for sure.
I totally had an idea for a post today and I'll be damned if it didn't leave my mind as soon as I sat down to get online. So, I'm back to square one of nothing to write about.
I'm glad it's getting cooler. Except for in Georgia, it's sometimes an extreme change. And I'm not even talking about seasonal, I'm talking about daily. Like..I'm freezing right now. It's very overcast & breezy.
Brrr.
I mentioned that I was going to buy this....and I did. Last week. I haven't started it. I want to watch it first and then I'll see if I think I can even do it. There are 4 dance routines/workouts. 2 Hip Hops, 1 Latin & 1 Latin/Hip Hop fusion.
I've watched one of the routines & it seams like it might be fairly easy. I just have to see if I have an inkling of rhythm left-as far as dancing goes.
As far as weighing in. I weigh the same as I did, last week...and the week before...and I think even the week before that.
Literally no change at all.
Which is good and bad. Good because it's not going up, bad because it's not going down.
My weekend was pretty great. Saturday consisted of my dad, brother & husband leaving really early to head to south GA for the gator hunt. Later mom & I took my nephew to his baseball practice & then it was home for TV & movies the rest of the day/night. Sunday, early a.m. my dad got a 6'2" gator! [I'm so proud of & happy for him!] They got back home mid-day and the rest of Sunday was pretty laid back. Monday was date day. Doug had the day off. We slept in, then started the day with [free] lunch at Applebees (gotta love gift cards), then went to Zoo Atlanta, and ended they day out with Taco Bell for supper. And it was a prefect day. I'll always love going to the zoo.♥ And I have to mention how proud I am of myself for wearing shorts yesterday. Trust me, it's a big deal.
Short, sweet & to the point.
I'm having one of my "why do I even have a blog" days. Merp. I'm just tired and don't have much to talk about right now.
Dad's having a surgery tomorrow and I'm trying to not think about it too much. Anesthesia makes me nervous & last time he had a procedure he was a little difficult to wake up according to my mom, so that make me more nervous. So, any T&P's are appreciated. I'm just fuckin' nervous, he's worked all damn day & he has to work again tonight for a couple of hours and then has to be at the dr office at 7 am. I don't like that, at all.
I don't really have much else to talk about. Maybe I need to go listen to my good day playlist that I posted Friday.
I just need & food and for 8 o'clock to get here so I can pop some Zzzquil and wait for sleep.
Ahh, Monday. It's here again.
Good Morning everyone!
My lovely husband is off, so our weekend technically isn't over and I'm hoping we still do something fun today.
Since I'm hoping for a good day, I thought, "what better thing to do than try to help others have a good day?" So, here's my attempt to try to help you have a good day! How so?
With music, of course! This is me we're talking about.
So, if you're having a rough morning or just don't want to be at work, can't seem to wake up, it's a rainy day, you're just in a flat out bad mood, whatever the case. Take a listen to one, some, or all of them!
If I can make at least one person smile or help one persons mood or day start off good or improve, that make me happy!
What are some songs that put you in a good mood, or that you like to start your days with?!
What would you add to the list?
Leave a comment & let me know!
Great news! The internet is back in my home! Since Wednesday!
The thing is, I haven't known what the hell to post the last two days since I have actually been able to, so I just didn't.
But I need to try to jump back into it.
So what better way than with a shit ton of link ups all in one post?
It'll be a little lengthy.
At least it gives me stuff to talk about! ;-)
Today I'm linking up with a lot of lovely ladies for about 4 different link ups! Pretty sure this is my first time doing a 5 on Friday & I'm not entirely sure if there is a certain thing you're supposed to do...so here's to winging it!. Linking up with Darci, April, Natasha, and Christina.
One....
First and foremost, it's Friday the 13th! I'm one of those weirdos that loves this day! So in spirit of this day, I just want to point out how extremely excited I am about all of the Halloween stuff in stores! Y'all, I really am a weirdo. The whole gothic, old, scary/creepy, horror, haunted kind of feel,...I love it. I've already been to Spirit Halloween to check out everything & then of course all other stores getting all of their stuff out: Wal Mart, Target, Michaels, JoAnn, Party City... Love it. To celebrate we are going to watch Freddy vs. Jason tonight, per my nephews request. This is a big deal. He's 10. When I was his age I already loved horror movies, but he is just now showing interest so it will be interesting to see how long he watches or how many times he covers his eyes, aside from the mandatory covering your eyes during anything sexual or whatnot. It is rated R after all. lol
Two....
It's also Football Friday. I unfortunately don't really have much to contribute. I have no food ideas, or outfit ideas or anything like that. Sunday DirecTV had a "free sample day" for NFL Sunday Ticket -which I don't have-, so I decided to take advantage of it. I live in GA and while my Top NFL team is the Atlanta Falcons, I also follow 3 teams out of my region so I miss actually getting to watch A LOT of games. Well, I still ended up missing huge chunks of them since 3 games were on at the same time. It's so hard to juggle! Anyone else had Sunday Ticket? If so, do you find it better or worse as far as keeping up with all the games? It aggravated the shit out of me that I would turn it to one game and they see a bad play or two only to finally switch back to another and see that I've missed a good play or two. At the end of the weekend two of my teams had lost & 3 had won, I will take that. I am still on cloud 9 about that UGA/USC game. This weekend/week I'm hoping that My Falcons & Bengals can pull out a win, and my Dawgs are on a bye week, so they'll be back next weekend. I'm so glad Erin, Erin & Tiffany are going to periodically have this link up going on throughout Football season, maybe next time I will have something better or more to contribute! I'm excited to hop around and read others posts.
Three....
Wish my Daddy, bro & hubs luck! They are leaving tomorrow for the night for a gator hunt! Last year my brother was drawn for it & he nabbed a 5 footer. This year my dad was chosen so I really, really hope my Daddy can get one! He'll be just so excited. It was supposed to be 2 nights, but he couldn't get Monday off of work so they had to shorten it to one night. Since Doug already took Monday off for it, I told him that he and I could do something! So I'm excited to get to spend a weekday with my man. It really is kind of different from a weekend, especially during school, not quite as many kids out. We were thinking about going to the Zoo! But we'll see what the forecast looks like.
Four....
Stuff to do! This weekend isn't too planned for me. It'll just be my mom, myself and my nephew on Saturday & the main plan is his baseball practice. I'm excited to see him finally be able to play sports, even though it's not on our county. So, other than that it will be relatively low key, aside from helping my mother clean her room. Next weekend is Nopi Nationals & I'm excited to go and see how it is, compared to the last time we went (2007..or 8). I don't like change and it's at a different venue now that's it's returned. It started back last year, but my brother's gator hunt fell on the same weekend & so I sucked it up and let Doug go to that instead of us going to the car show, with the condition that next year (aka this year) we were NOT missing it. Now the bummer to that day is that my niece will be here and I won't get to see her. Devastated is an understatement. Then weekend after next is the Fall Out Boy/Panic! At The Disco concert. The fact that I have loved both bands for about 8 years, and the fact that this is Fall Out Boys tour & I bought the tickets back in Feb., or March, not even knowing yet who they would have with them only for it to be announced that it was Panic!,..I mean...it's like fate! It was MEANT to happen! I'm SO stoked for this! The rest of September looks good.
Five....
Helene did a "Songs That Define Me" link up yesterday & luckily it's still open. Being a avid music lover, I was excited to hear about this, but then quickly realized how hard it is to picks songs the truly, truly define you. I mean everyone has "their" song(s), their favorite songs, or whatever. But think about it, what song(s) define you. My answer right now is simply, I really don't know. So, I chose a few songs that I love & that may have some meaning or bring some level of comfort to me. Since I'm doing a 5 on Friday, I'll stick with the 5 theme & pick 5 songs. 1. Linkin Park- Crawling
I was 12 when this song came out & it couldn't have been a more perfect time. I began to really struggle with the typical pre-teen, hormonal, whatever-you-want-to-call-it depression. Only mine didn't really go away. That's a whole other story on it's own. The entire Hybrid Theory album was amazing therapy to me. Even today, when I'm in a hole, it's still one of my go-to songs/albums. There's a weird sense of sadness yet comfort with it. When you find a song that expresses exactly how you feel, it sticks with you. Linkin Park has and will always hold a special place in my heart for being there for and helping me.
2. Incubus- Pardon Me
"Pardon me while I burn & rise above the flame. Pardon me, if I never be the same." Change. A phoenix rising from the ashes. Coming to the end of your rope with whatever it may be & finally deciding that something has to change. That's what this song says to me. I've loved it for years! But really in the past 2 or 3 years it's stuck with me a lot more. I have changed, and I feel like I still am, and this song is just even more fitting than ever. I mean extremely fitting, where it's like, "wow, this song IS me right now." Besides who doesn't love Incubus?!
3. Jessie J- Who You Are
A song about being true to yourself. Who couldn't benefit from a song about that?! It's amazing. If you haven't listened to it before, go ahead and do yourself a favor. I have to take this song in from time to time. It so easy to beat yourself up or compare yourself to others. Jessie J is awesome. Check her out.
4. Bill Withers- Lean On Me
I have always loved this song. I remember singing it on the bus in Elementary School. I remember singing it with my mom as a kid...and now, haha. I'm a nurturer by nature & so I often times will be the person someone can talk to about things. And I like that. I like to be able to help people, even if all I do is listen to them. It can also be a fault, I overextend myself sometimes. But anyway, I just love this song. And it makes me think of my best friend. This is our song for each other. Since we are so far apart, just a reminder that no matter what I'm always there for her and vice versa.
5. Zac Brown Band- Chicken Fried
"I was raised up beneath the shade of a Georgia pine, and that's home you know." You'll always hear me say that I'm proudly southern. A song about the small, simple things that mean the most. At the end of the day that's what it's all about. As much as I'd like to do, see or have all of these different things, when it comes down to it, I'm a small town girl who would be/is happy with a happy home, husband and family. And I'm a Georgia girl. So this song seems a little more personal. Plus, Zac lived here for a few year and still comes around every so often -although I haven't seen him yet.- ;) And now I want fried chicken and beer. TGIF!
I'll leave you today with Eminem's new song! Berzerk by Eminem on Grooveshark
"Take your shoes off, let your hair down, go berzerk! All night long!"
Happy Friday!
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
What are you listening to today?!
I'm about to say goodbye to the internet for now, we're about to head back home.
But, I decided to do a Sunday Social. It's been a while & this weeks questions are FALL related.
Aka, the best time of year...aside from Spring. :) This Weeks Questions:
1. What is your favorite fall activity? Watching Football & scary movies & getting excited about eating turkey and christmas! Family time. Being able to go outside without burning up too bad. And doing any of the upcoming things around my area. Seeing the leaves change and fall. Hell, I don't know...I love pretty much everything about fall.
2. Do you follow a football team? If so, which one and why? Yes, 5 of them. Overwhelming right? Georgia Bulldogs & Atlanta Falcons, home state teams. Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions & Cincinnati Bengals, all because I've followed a few favorite GA players to the NFL & their new teams & have come to love/like those teams.
I'm SOOOOOOOO EXCITED about our win against the SCAR COCKS Saturday! OHEMGEE! I could get more into it, but I'll save it for later!
Bummed that the Falcons & Bengals lost and right at the end of the 4th for both teams. :( Happy the Lions pulled out a win though! & Of course, even though I fell asleep during it the other night, I'm glad my Broncos won! WOOP! Not a bad weekend in football. 3 outta 5.
3. What is something fun about fall in your area? Gold Rush in my town & the The Cumming Fair a couple of counties over. Then there's Oktorberfest in Helen, which I've never went to before. There are lots of little festivals around here in the fall.
4. What are your favorite fall staple outfits? HOODIES! jeans, comfy shirt & flip flops/or tennis shoes/boots/sneakers (wtfever) depending on the weather...lol I wear flips flops in every season unless it's unbearably cold & my feet can't handle it.
5. What things are his looking forward to most about this coming fall season? Fall Out Boy & Panic! At The Disco concert, Avenged Sevenfold concert, The Sum Of Who We Are to be released (Framing Hanley's new album), Nopi (if we go), Gold Rush, the fair (if we go), & hunting season. Halloween! & Thanksgiving! & several birthdays!
6. What is your favorite fall holiday? Tradition? Thanksgiving is a given, I think. I love it. Food & family, as long as it can be drama free, what could be better?! & Halloween! I'm a weirdo, I LOOOOVE it. Love when store start putting out Halloween stuff, makes me so happy! Carving pumpkins is always a fun thing to do... & then opening days of hunting season when everyone goes to the club...cause that usually means a weekend either alone for me, or a weekend with mom & I, depending on if she goes or not.
Hello there!
I say peek-a-boo, cause I'm not really back just yet...
I have a net connection for the weekend! Woo!
I've missed this here little space,...but yet, then again I didn't.
Blogging is funny to me. I still have days of wonder why the hell I even have one of these things.
I suppose I'll just leave it be & continue mission.
Be internet-less is for the birds, but everyone these days knows that.
Isn't that a sad realization or how things have changed in even just 10 or 15 years?
Anyway, we should hopefully have internet again at home by Wednesday. Hopefully.
Life lately...
I don't remember the last time I posted...so let's see...
-We were devastated by GA's loss last weekend & I'm really praying we can pull a W out against the Angry Birds tomorrow!
-Ready for the Falcons to kickoff Sunday.
-I'm disappointed in myself because I actually got to watch the Broncos play last night...and what do I do? Fall asleep. I blame the Zzzquil. Shit works.
-WIW I lost like a pound and some change. I wrote it down, but I don't have that paper right here, so yea. How I even lost that I have no earthly idea.
-The push to get a job is happening again, rightfully so, but I haven't been able to look or apply because most places are APPLY ONLINE. SO facking annoying!
-Instead of getting my ass outside and soaking up the not-too-hot warmth I've done the usual nothing that I always do. With some cleaning and other housewifey duties included.
-September looks to be a fun month for hubs & myself. Gator hunting (hubs -w/ my daddy& bro), Nopi (if we go), and FOB & P!ATD (for me).
-It's been out for ONE WEEK & I still have not been to see This Is Us. THIS. IS. A. PROBLEM.
-I had a weird dream last night about bears and snakes that I just now remembered, so I need to look that up.
-I've discovered that I like & am good at shooting a bow. You'd think being in a family of avid hunters, I would have shot one before, but no. Now they are all even more determined to get me in the woods!
-I cleaned a little in my spare/hopefully-soon-to-be-scrapbook room. This is good. Didn't look like I made a lot of progress but wtfever, I did it.
So yea, that's about all I've got for you. Not much has happened in my neck of the woods.
Haven't missed much, but I'm excited to be able to catch up on everyone's blogs!
I need some blog inspiration, everyone is able to come up with these great posts & I'm hear all like "this is my life today..."
